Mariusz Ganczar Proves Best in World Top Investor Contest

On March 31, 2010, the international World Top Investor 2009-2010 competition, which began April 1, 2009, came to an end. The winner of the global ranking was a Pole, Mr Mariusz Ganczar, who achieved a 554% rate of return in the competition.

World Top Investor is a championship in which competitors transact with real money in real accounts. The entrants from eleven countries worldwide compete over a twelve month period. Over ten thousand derivative instruments, such as spot contracts, forwards, futures, currency CFDs, and options were available for trading.

The contest was organised by leading currency brokers from several countries around the world. The Polish league was sponsored by TMS Brokers S.A. As many as three Poles found their way into the top ten – Mr Edmund Ganczar was sixth and Mr Rafał Glinicki was seventh.

From the beginning of the competition, Mr Mariusz Ganczar was among the top competitors and between June 2009 and March 2010 he became the clear champion. Mr Ganczar is the first winner to have led the scoreboard for ten months.

The rivalry among the top competitors had been fierce. Mr Hristo Grivnev of Bulgaria placed second, returning 188%. Three Australian investors, Hanqui Guo, Phillip Sha, and Wei Wang, placed third with an 180% return.

Mr Mariusz Granczar earned renown in international investor circles for his outstanding performance. TMS Brokers S.A., the sponsor of the domestic league, funded the winner a travel voucher valid for any chosen destination.

In order to participate, you have to open an account with TMS Brokers with a minimum balance of PLN 15,000. The person with the highest rate of return (in per cent terms) in a year’s time wins. An investor may simultaneously open several participating investment accounts.

The competition is organised by leading currency brokers from several countries worldwide. The Polish league is organised by TMS Brokers. This years’ competition is the fourth edition.
